Give it A Shot

Give It A Shot introduces boys and girls ages 3–14 to the exciting game of hockey in a fun, supportive environment. Led by experienced coaches and youth players, participants will develop basic skating skills, learn fundamental hockey techniques, build confidence, and most importantly, have fun while discovering a lifelong love of the game.

Who is Give It A Shot for?

Give It A Shot is designed for boys and girls ages 3–14 who are new to hockey or have little to no skating experience.

Does my child need hockey experience?

No. This program is specifically designed for beginners. Our coaches will introduce skating and basic hockey skills in a fun, supportive environment.

What equipment is required?

Players must have:

• Hockey skates
• Hockey helmet
• Hockey gloves
• Hockey stick

Loose-fitting sweatpants with shin pads worn underneath are recommended but not required.

Do you provide loaner equipment?

No. Players are responsible for bringing their own equipment. At a minimum, skates, a helmet, gloves, and a stick are required.

Do I have to register for every session?

No. Register only for the sessions you plan to attend.

Can my child attend more than once?

Absolutely! Many players return week after week to continue building confidence, improve their skating, and develop their hockey skills.

What if my child is nervous?

That's completely normal. Our coaches create a positive, encouraging environment where every player can learn at their own pace. The goal is to help each participant feel successful and have fun.

Can parents watch?

Yes! Parents are welcome to watch from the viewing areas while players are on the ice.

When your child is ready, our coaches and staff can help you identify the next step based on their age, skill level, and interests.
